Join Our Prayer Meeting, Share the Power of Faith

On life’s journey, everyone faces challenges and hardships. At Calvary Methodist Church, we understand that facing these challenges alone can be daunting. We warmly invite you to our weekly Tuesday night prayer meetings, where we seek God's guidance and strength together.

Why Attend a Prayer Meeting?

The prayer meeting is the “engine room” of our church, a core part of our spiritual life. Here, we not only express our needs to God but also support and encourage one another through prayer. Whether you are dealing with health issues, emotional struggles, or relationship difficulties, we believe that collective prayer can open pathways to solutions.

What Happens at the Prayer Meeting?

Our gatherings start at 7:30 PM every Tuesday, beginning with hymns and songs followed by scripture reading, short sermon, testimony, and then moving into a time of prayer. During this time, we pray for each other and for our church members who are in need. If you have specific prayer requests, we encourage you to contact us in advance through our online form, or better still, come personally yourself so we can pray more effectively for you.

Embracing Fasting with Wisdom

As part of our spiritual practices, we acknowledge the biblical tradition of fasting, which many believers find deepens their prayer experience. Scriptures such as Matthew 6:16-18 teach us that fasting, when done in a spirit of humility before God, is a profound way to seek spiritual clarity and communion with the Lord.

We encourage those who feel led to incorporate fasting into their preparation for our prayer meetings to do so thoughtfully and responsibly. Please consider your own health and consult with healthcare professionals if you have any concerns about whether fasting is right for you. Our church supports each individual's approach to spiritual disciplines, emphasising that each person's journey is personal and unique.

By engaging in fasting or any other spiritual discipline, participants deepen their spiritual resolve and draw closer to God, enhancing the collective prayer experience. However, the choice to fast should always be made with careful consideration of one's health and personal circumstances.

We firmly believe in the promise found in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Over the years, we have witnessed countless prayers answered, experiencing God’s presence and blessings firsthand.

我们的聚会每周二晚上7:30开始，以赞美诗歌拉开序幕，随后有共读经文，简短布道，及见证，随后进入祷告的时间。在这一时间段，我们将为彼此以及教会中有需求的弟兄姐妹祈祷。如果您有特定的祷告请求，我们鼓励您提前通过我们的在线联系表格与我们沟通，如果您本人可以到我们祷告会现场那是最优的方式，以便我们能更准确地为您祷告。

以智慧来禁食

作为我们灵修实践的一部分，我们承认圣经中的禁食传统，许多基督徒发现禁食能加深他们的祷告体验。《马太福音》6:16-18 等经文教导我们，禁食如果是本着在神面前谦卑的精神进行的，是寻求灵性洁净和与主交通的一种深刻方式。
